Your first visit at M.I. Dental Designs represents the kind of care and attention you’ll receive on every visit. During your comprehensive exam and dental cleaning, we make every effort to ensure your comfort and help you feel like part of our family. When you arrive, our front office staff will greet you by name. We’ll accept your completed new patient forms, or give you forms to complete in the reception area. Dr. Imam will come into the reception area, greet you, and escort you on a tour of the office. After that, you’ll sit in his office to get acquainted, discuss your oral health history and any concerns, and talk about your smile goals. A thorough new patient examination follows. It includes:

• Photos of your face, mouth, and teeth

• Examination of your head and neck

• Oral cancer screening of your tongue, cheeks, and oral tissue

• Full-mouth digital x-rays and scan

• Periodontal probing and charting to detect of any signs of gum disease

The entire examination will take an hour and a half. After your exam, Dr. Imam will discuss the status of your oral health and any issues, and explain your treatment options. Afterward, a hygienist will complete your dental cleaning, which takes an additional hour. You have the option of scheduling the hygiene session at a separate appointment.
